The Legend
Before becoming a legend,

Casanova was a violinist.

We invite you on an intimate journey into the life of Venice’s most famous adventurer. Specially arranged for a refined chamber ensemble—oboe, violin, and piano—this program retraces the steps, passions, and intrigues of the young violinist through the music that defined his era.
«Having no other means of earning a living, I resigned myself to joining the orchestra of the San Samuele Theatre as a violinist.»
The musicians
Il Duo
A chamber ensemble of rare refinement
Violino
La voce principale dell'ensemble. Il violino guida melodicamente il racconto musicale, incarnando lo spirito inquieto e virtuoso di Casanova.
Piano/Harpsichord
As the successor to the Baroque harpsichord, the piano provides the harmonic and rhythmic foundation, weaving the sonic tapestry upon which the solo voices move.

ANTONIO VIVALDI
Sinfonia in C Major, RV 112
A brilliant and theatrical opening. The music of the "Red Priest" was the definitive soundtrack of the Venice where Casanova grew up and shaped his restless spirit.
«Cultivating the pleasures of the senses has been my principal occupation throughout my life. [...] I loved high society, the theater, and everything that vividly stimulates the imagination.»
